Independent Impartial Roof Assessments

Having a sound roof is essential for protecting your residential or business property assets. A defect or neglect can lead to costly maintenance and repair bills and consequential damage or, in extreme cases, to replacement of the roof.

NZ Roofing Consultants Ltd offers a range of inspections, appraisals, advice and written reports for any roofing issues requiring the unbiased and professional opinion of an experienced roofing consultant.

NZ Roofing Consultants Ltd is able to assist clients within the residential, commercial and industrial sectors throughout New Zealand.

Inspections and reports are designed to best meet/serve the needs of clients. These needs can be varied. In the simplest case only a visual inspection and verbal report may be required. However, most situations call for written confirmation of the onsite findings. The amount of detail necessary in a report is in turn determined by a number of factors such as:

  • The type, size, complexity, age and condition of the roof
  • The purpose for which the report is being commissioned, eg. General guidance, workmanship issues, presentation at a Disputes Tribunal hearing, or as evidence provided by NZ Roofing Consultants Ltd as an expert witness in a WHRS claim.

A typical written report aims to clearly answer a client brief and presents the results of an inspection under the following headings:

  • Findings – all points observed on the roof with accompanying photographs to support the findings
  • Conclusions – derived from inspection and findings
  • Recommendations – recommended actions to be taken as a result of the findings
  • Summary – an overview of the findings, conclusions and recommendations

A typical report covers the condition of the roof, standard of existing repairs, a recommended maintenance programme, and estimated lifespan of the roof. Re-roofing options also are  discussed and reported on, if required.
